Relational DBA
Contract: 12-18 months
Location: Remote, Within the State of Texas             

Our client needs a Relational DBA for a remote long-term project within the State of TX. The DBA will be providing assistance in the planning, development, maintenance, and monitoring of integrated database systems and ensuring that the conceptual and design phases of new applications are consistent with the structural parameters within the database environment.

This is a great opportunity to showcase your abilities within a high-profile client.  The DBA must be able to work under limited supervision, with considerable latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment!

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or a related field
  • At least 6+ years of experience working in Database Administration capacity
  • Must have EIR Accessibility standards and assistive technologies
  • Preferred Knowledge of SNOMED, LOINC, HL7, AWS RDB, SAS
  • SQL Server monitoring and performance tuning
  • Project leadership and implementation
  • Experience with data pipelines and ETL data structures
Project involves:
  • Planning, creating, maintaining and monitoring logical and physical data models
  • Entering codes to create a production database, monitoring performance, reviewing programs, and modifying database programs to increase processing
  • Database tuning, indexing, data modeling, prototyping, customization, installations, troubleshooting, upgrades, patching, user management, security of data at rest and in motion, disaster recovery, clustering for high availability and load balancing, data backup, purging and archiving, implementation of database policies, data replication and backup to secondary sites like disaster recovery environments, procedures for the integrity, availability and confidentiality of the sensitive and business critical databases
  • Ensuring user interfaces are compliant with accessibility standards
  • Ability to manage database security, integrity backup procedures, and performance tuning
  • Implement and maintain data security protocols for sensitive data & PII
  • Understanding of Data Usage patterns to plan for capacity management
  • Providing support to users in obtaining data and general information when EIR Accessibility issues arise
