Our client, a leader in wireless infrastructure services is in need of a Project Manager to join their growing PMO team in their Pittsburgh office.  We are in need of an experienced individual that has good background knowledge of project implementations in the wireless/telecom industry.  Ideally someone with a PMP and a background with heavy consulting experience, possibly from a Big 5 consulting firm is highly desirable.
The individual will be responsible for overseeing and ensuring the timely and effective completion of multiple initiatives of varying scope and ensuring that all direct reports are doing the same, while also effectively coordinating with all of the other business units and regions to define, prioritize, and develop initiatives.  The result will be to ensure that projects being managed by the respective project/program managers are executed with the same formula across all regions.

Essential Job Functions
  • Provide thought leadership for the introduction of project management practices and develop templates, processes, etc. to support project planning and execution across the organization
  • Manage the development and maintenance of project management policies and procedures
  • Develop and/or improve clear and effective resource management tools as well as planning for risk mitigation strategies
  • Ensure that the project teams are managing the timelines, and resource allocations for all of their assigned initiatives
  • Provide leadership, training, and guidance to project managers
  • Act as the escalation point for initiative issues
  • Provide regular updates to the PMO Director and Steering Committee as appropriate
  • Partner across organization lines/business units
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • PMP certification preferred
  • Previous consulting experience preferred
Experience/Minimum Requirements
  • 7+ years of experience in project management as well as experience in developing project management processes, procedures, techniques and tools  
  • Previous experience managing large projects and delivering to C Level executives
Other Skills/Abilities
  • Strong background in people management, strategic planning, risk management, and change management
  • Thorough knowledge of telecommunications/wireless industry
  • Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to large groups of people and working with executive teams
  • Ability to diagnose work flow problems and implement remedies
  • Creative, problem solving approach to each initiative deployment and proven experience in successful project outcomes
