Director, IT Data Center #582

Our client is in need of  a Director, IT Data Center Operations for their Headquarters in the North Dallas area.  The Director will be responsible for assessing and implementing all aspects related to the data center infrastructure environment with a primary focus on day-to-day high level operational execution and strategic direction. The Director will be charged with leading a large team who designs, develops, documents and implements the data center infrastructure environment to include disaster recovery, high availability, capacity planning, and information security.
 
Serving as a seasoned subject matter expert, the Director will apply leadership and management skills to establish collaborative partnerships with accountability for executing against the corporate business strategy to achieve organizational goals.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to influence and build strong relationships across multiple programs; they will also have the ability to cultivate strategic business partnerships. Candidates must be comfortable building strong teams, monitoring and directing junior to senior team members, and working with significant stakeholders, including multiple levels of managers and executives.
 
**The Candidate must have demonstrated experience successfully managing large, complex infrastructure support, data center, and network operations.
 
DAILY DUTIES
  • Design, develop, and implement data center infrastructure environment
  • Drive process improvements and IT service optimization Operational / Delivery Management
  • Provide information security protocols to ensure the effectiveness of all security technology and IT programs
  • Develop and manage strategic technology plans and roadmaps
  • Manage identification, investigation and solving production problems, including preventative measures and appropriate communication to clients regarding resolution
  • Ensure a strong plan for disaster recovery
  • Develop detailed capacity plan and monitor to ensure achieving optimal performance
  • Develop metrics and proper reporting tools to ensure effective management of all designated areas
  • Promote and ensure strong documentation of procedures
  • Build effective partnerships with internal and external teams
  • Influence and navigate complex and competing interests of multiple stakeholders for Strategy and Planning
  • Develop leadership talent across the organization and develop plans for enhancing organizational talent
  • Provide technical support to internal clients by ensuring proper regulations are adhered to
  • Review and analyze current data and procedures while mitigating risks and vulnerabilities
  • Perform ongoing investigations, data loss prevention activities, data manipulation, and coordination of other activities relating to security integrity as necessary
  • Manage financial budgets: capital, expense and in-servicing
  • Effectively prioritize financial spend while ensuring financial prudency on behalf of customers and shareholders
 
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, OR equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience in overall network topology; network security; internet, intranet, extranet technologies; and operating systems
  • 5+ years of technical infrastructure management experience more directly leading data center strategy, engineering and/or operational teams in an enterprise high-availability environment
  • 3+ years of experience with Cloud and Hyper-Converged Infrastructure (HCI) technologies (IaaS, DaaS, DWaaS, etc.)
  • 3+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365
  • Strong experience with Advance Disaster Recovery and Data Protection
  • 2+ years managing HCI such as Vx -Rail or Nutanix and VDI management
  • Security certification preferred
  • PMP certification, or equivalent preferred and some experience with the Agile Methodology
  • ITIL Foundations certification preferred
  • Broad knowledge of Information Security technologies, techniques and processes
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, and team oriented
  • Ability to navigate and work effectively across a complex, geographically dispersed organizations
