Network Firewall Engineer
Full-Time Opportunity
Location: North Dallas, TX area (Hybrid)

We are currently recruiting for a strong Network Firewall Network Engineer.  Our global client is in need of a resource in the Dallas office to oversee the company’s internet access, e-commerce, data, and communications network systems. The Network Firewall Engineer will specialize in the installation and operation of computer networks and office automation systems within the company supporting their US capabilities.

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience in network engineering
  • Minimum 6+ years of core network engineering experience with a strong understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware
  • Knowledge of OSI model and network infrastructure protocols
  • Strong experience devising network architectures with hands-on experience with IPv4 and IPv6 support and implementations
  • Expertise with  Cisco and Fortinet network firewall platforms
  • Previous experience working on MESH VPNs, Site-to-Site VPNs, Remote VPN technology
  • Strong background with Cisco routing and switching protocols, including BGP, and configuration
  • Background working with Cisco Meraki MX (Router), MS (Switch) and MR (WiFi AP)
  • Skilled in detecting and fixing network communication faults
  • Ability to quickly learn new or unfamiliar technology and products using documentation and online resources
  • Exceptional communicator and team leader
  • Ability to build rapport, create connections, and drive engagement with vendors and partner

Daily Duties:
  • Design and support local wired and wireless network environments onsite and nationwide
  • Implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewalls, routers, switches
  • Provide hardware installations with respective moves and changes
  • Configure and maintain VPN connections and manage all firewalls and remote access
  • Contribute to the organization’s strategy, planning, development, and implementation of hardware and software systems to support online activities and data management
  • Create accurate network diagrams and documentation in Visio (or other tools for designing and planning network systems)
  • Perform backup and upgrade of network devices when required
  • Protect data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning and implementing network security measures
  • Ability to lead project implementations: create a detailed schedule of tasks, spec out HW and inventory control
  • May be required to provide 24x7 on-call service
