Vice President, Medical Malpractice Risk Management
Location: Remote, USA

Our client, a leading national risk management firm specializing in healthcare coverage, is seeking a Vice President of Corporate Risk to join their growing team. This senior leadership role will primarily oversee medical malpractice insurance for a wide range of healthcare clients, including those in medicine, nursing, optometry, dentistry, pharmacy, and other allied health professions. The ideal candidate will bring a strong background in medical malpractice brokerage and a passion for client relationship management.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or a related discipline
  • Minimum of 7 years in the P&C insurance industry, with a focus on medical malpractice.
  • Proven success in managing complex accounts.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading and mentoring a team, optimizing team performance.
  • In-depth knowledge of medical malpractice insurance, risk transfer strategies, and state/federal laws governing medical malpractice.
  • Broad network of medical malpractice carrier relationships and deep market knowledge.
  • Active Residential Property & Casualty Insurance License (in state of residence), EPIC system experience preferred.
  • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills with a customer-first mentality.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for a portfolio of healthcare clients.
  • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with senior decision-makers and day-to-day contacts.
  • Develop and execute customized risk management solutions and insurance programs that align with clients' needs, business strategies, and risk profiles.
  • Manage and mentor a team of 5 professionals fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.
  • Drive new business opportunities and retain existing clients through tailored, strategic solutions.
  • Contribute to firm-wide revenue growth and client retention.
  • Analyze industry trends, pricing practices, and insurance carrier capabilities to develop the best risk financing structures for clients.
  • Work closely with internal teams, including senior leadership, to ensure optimal service delivery and cross-selling opportunities across the organization.
  • Support the M&A team and assist in sales processes and acquisition strategies.
  • Oversee account profitability and lead the design and execution of account stewardship plans.
