Workday Systems Technical Lead
Location: Austin, Texas (Hybrid – Onsite 4 days per week)
Permanent Position

We are seeking an experienced Workday Systems Technical lead to manage the configuration, implementation, and ongoing administration of our new Workday ERP platform. This role serves as the primary technical SME, ensuring seamless deployment and long-term optimization of Workday across HR, Finance, and related functions.

You’ll play a critical role in shaping how the organization operates, modernizing core systems that impact every employee. This is an opportunity to lead a high-visibility project from implementation through optimization, working cross-functionally with Finance, HR, and IT leaders.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Workday certification required.
  • Proven experience administering or supporting Workday systems
  • Experience with Workday implementation projects, including configuration, testing, and training.
  • Strong understanding of Workday modules (especially HCM and Financials) and familiarity with integrations, calculated fields, Workday Studio, and EIBs.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and project management skills.
  • Experience in public, nonprofit, or mission-driven environments preferred.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the technical implementation, configuration, and maintenance of Workday modules including HCM, Finance, Payroll, Grants, and Security.
  • Serve as Workday technical lead during deployment; partner with functional leads, IT, and executive stakeholders to align business processes with system design.
  • Manage integrations with third-party systems (payroll, benefits, and financial applications) and maintain data integrity in collaboration with the Data Analytics team.
  • Provide post go-live support, troubleshooting, release management, and user access oversight.
  • Develop and maintain system documentation, configuration guides, and end-user training materials.
  • Evaluate new Workday releases and recommend adoption of features that drive process improvement and efficiency.
  • Ensure system compliance, security, and continuous enhancement aligned with organizational goals.
