Principal Business Process Transformation Consultant Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid) Contract Position: 12 months+
We are seeking a Principal Business Process Transformation Consultant to lead high-impact operational transformation initiatives within a large, complex enterprise environment. This role will focus on evaluating and redesigning critical business processes to eliminate inefficiencies, improve scalability, and establish consistent operating models across the organization. This role requires the ability to move beyond analysis to lead transformation initiatives, influence stakeholders, and deliver practical solutions.
The consultant will work with operational leadership, technology teams, and cross-functional stakeholders to analyze current workflows, identify systemic inefficiencies, and design future-state processes that support modernization and improved operational performance. The ideal candidate is a strategic problem solver with deep experience leading enterprise process improvement efforts and driving measurable operational change.
Qualifications:
10+ years of experience in business process transformation, enterprise business analysis, operational strategy, or management consulting.
Proven success leading large-scale process improvement initiatives in complex or regulated environments.
Strong expertise in current-state and future-state process analysis, process mapping, gap analysis, and operating model design.
Demonstrated ability to identify inefficiencies and translate complex operational challenges into scalable business solutions.
Excellent stakeholder engagement and facilitation skills with the ability to influence senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Experience driving enterprise modernization, digital transformation, or operational efficiency initiatives.
Experience defining KPIs, performance baselines, and measurable outcomes for process improvements.
Lean, Lean Six Sigma, or similar process improvement certification preferred.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead analysis and redesign of complex operational processes to identify inefficiencies, risks, and improvement opportunities.
Conduct current-state assessments and design future-state workflows that improve efficiency, consistency, and scalability.
Perform gap analysis and develop recommendations to enhance business processes and service delivery.
Develop and document business requirements, user needs, and functional specifications supporting process improvements and technology solutions.
Assess operating models to understand how work flows across teams, systems, and organizations.
Present solution options and recommendations, including risks and high-level cost/benefit considerations.
Partner with technology teams to translate process improvements into functional requirements and modernization initiatives.
Facilitate stakeholder interviews, workshops, and working sessions to evaluate processes and align on improvement strategies.
Provide guidance on operational strategy, process optimization, and continuous improvement practices.
Define performance metrics and KPIs to measure operational improvements.
Support implementation and change management to ensure successful adoption of redesigned processes.
