Database Administrator
Contract: 12-Months

Location: Tallahassee, Florida (5 days, onsite)

This position does not support third-party submissions, subcontracting, or Corp-to-Corp (C2C) arrangements.

We are seeking a Database Administrator to support the administration, design, implementation, and optimization of enterprise SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS database environments. The ideal candidate will possess strong experience with database performance tuning, production support, application enhancements, and troubleshooting while collaborating with technical teams to ensure the availability, security, and reliability of critical enterprise database systems.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Strong knowledge of relational database management systems (RDBMS), including database design, administration, and performance tuning.
  • Experience supporting Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and ESRI SDE Geodatabases in a large enterprise environment.
  • Ability to independently analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve complex database production issues with minimal supervision.
  • Experience designing, developing, and managing relational databases in accordance with established standards and best practices.
  • Experience performing SQL code reviews, database performance monitoring, optimization, and capacity planning.
  • Ability to prepare technical database specifications, documentation, and administration procedures.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
  • Experience collaborating with project managers, business analysts, developers, and technical teams to deliver database solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload, estimate project effort, mentor junior staff, and work effectively in a collaborative environment.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Perform daily database administration and operational support for SQL Server, Oracle, and GIS databases.
  • Plan, design, implement, maintain, and support enterprise database environments and database structures.
  • Monitor database performance, conduct performance tuning, and optimize database availability and reliability.
  • Develop, maintain, and update database administration standards, procedures, and technical documentation.
  • Perform SQL code reviews and ensure adherence to departmental standards and best practices.
  • Support database activities for application enhancements, system upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
