The ideal candidate is a strong, self-directed leader who can coordinate technical teams, business stakeholders, executives, and vendors while managing scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, and delivery commitments.
Qualifications/Requirements
- PMP, CSM, or comparable project management certification
- 8+ years of experience managing complex technical or software implementation projects
- Extensive experience leading enterprise technology implementations involving cloud, infrastructure, cybersecurity, applications, integrations, or modernization
- Strong experience with project planning, scheduling, governance, risk and issue management, dependencies, change control, and deployment readiness
- Experience coordinating technical teams, stakeholders, vendors, and executive leadership
- Experience developing project charters, executive status reports, dashboards, and risk assessments
- Experience managing technology projects within a public-sector environment, such as state or municipal government
- Experience with Agile, Waterfall, or hybrid methodologies and enterprise technology governance
- Experience coordinating testing, production releases, operational readiness, and post-implementation stabilization
Responsibilities
- Lead complex technology projects from initiation through implementation, deployment, and operational transition
- Develop project charters, implementation strategies, schedules, milestones, governance activities, and performance measures
- Manage scope, schedules, resources, risks, dependencies, and competing priorities while supporting project capacity and resource planning across concurrent initiatives
- Coordinate technical and business teams, vendors, implementation partners, and executive stakeholders to maintain alignment, accountability, and on-time delivery
- Facilitate project meetings and governance activities while preparing executive dashboards, status reports, risk assessments, and tracking decisions and action items
- Proactively identify risks and dependencies, develop mitigation strategies, resolve issues, and escalate matters requiring leadership attention
- Translate technical requirements and dependencies into actionable project plans while coordinating testing, deployment, operational readiness, and post-implementation activities
- Monitor vendor performance, deliverables, implementation milestones, and issue resolution
- Leverage approved project management, collaboration, automation, and AI-enabled tools to improve planning, documentation, reporting, and delivery efficiency
