Windows System Administrator
Contract Length:  1 year plus opportunity for extension/renewal

Location: Austin, TX – Hybrid (onsite 2 days)


We are seeking a Windows System Administrator for a long-term contract position with our client in Austin. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining and supporting highly reliable systems, providing daily operations under moderate supervision, and leveraging your broad IT skills and up-to-date knowledge.

Qualifications/Requirements
  • 2-3 years of relevant experience
  • Strong customer service orientation with a proactive problem-solving approach
  • Proficiency in basic Windows network administration (DNS, WINS, DHCP)
  • Familiarity with Active Directory Group Policy and troubleshooting
  • Effective communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to interact with individuals at all organizational levels
  • Solid technical background with the capability to explain complex concepts to a non-technical audience

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Manage user account creation, termination, and permissions
  • Collaborate with the IT helpdesk to resolve user issues promptly
  • Install and configure new server hardware and software as per documented standards
  • Document tasks and procedures, and develop new documentation as required
  • Build, configure, and troubleshoot software and hardware enhancements, application deployments, and infrastructure upgrades
  • Address basic desktop environmental issues and provide technical support to end-users
  • Support Office365 desktop software and conduct patching for desktops, servers, and IT infrastructure
  • Troubleshoot network-related issues and coordinate with the network team for resolution
  • Report IT status to government and program managers
  • Support IT systems through day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for client/server/storage/network devices
  • Assist with the implementation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of IT systems
  • Maintain accurate documentation of system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps
  • Utilize remote access technologies to resolve user problems
