Drupal Web Administrator
Location: Remote – must reside within the US
Project Length: 6-12 months


We are seeking an experienced Drupal Web Administrator to manage and support the migration of large-scale websites. This role will focus on web design, content management, and ensuring accessibility compliance. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Drupal CMS, front-end and back-end development, and a deep understanding of web accessibility standards. The position involves close collaboration between the Communications Division and IT Web Services team, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly digital experience.

Qualifications:

At least 7 years of experience required in the following:
  • Web administration, design, and managing large-scale websites
  • Drupal CMS, including content creation, taxonomy, and navigation
  • Front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end integration
  • Web accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) and remediation techniques
  • SEO best practices and website performance optimization
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences
  • Familiarity with responsive design principles and mobile-first strategies

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform highly complex web design and content development work
  • Assist in the migration of multiple related websites, ensuring content is accurate, functional, and accessible
  • Collaborate with the IT Web Services team to optimize website performance for speed, reliability, and scalability
  • Collaborate with content managers to ensure a smooth transition and updates of web content
  • Ensure compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility guidelines and resolve any accessibility issues
  • Administer website content via Drupal CMS and assist contributors with content updates and design enhancements
  • Preparing graphics, text, and tables while also determining the size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy
  • Test code, designs, and content for compatibility across different browsers and devices
  • Monitor website performance and analytics, implementing SEO and security best practices
  • Translate technical requirements into clear, functional communication strategies for stakeholders
  • Provide support and guidance to web contributors to ensure consistent use of the CMS and adherence to content standards
