ERP Business Analyst
Contract Position 1 year+
Location:  Houston, TX (Hybrid – Onsite and Telework)


We are seeking an ERP Business Analyst to play a critical leadership role to assist our client as they transition from an aging PeopleSoft ERP system to a modern, cloud-based solution that will transform how they manage finance, procurement, student services, and other core operations. As a strategic liaison between functional departments and technical teams, you will lead the discovery, documentation, and analysis of institutional requirements to guide system selection, configuration, and implementation. This role is key to ensuring the new ERP solution supports operational excellence, stakeholder needs, and long-term institutional goals.

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Proven experience leading business analysis for enterprise software projects involving multiple departments.
  • Strong facilitation, communication, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to synthesize diverse stakeholder input into cohesive business and system requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience supporting cloud-based ERP implementation in a higher education environment.
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms such as Workday, Ellucian Banner/Colleague, or Oracle Cloud.
  • Understanding of higher ed administrative functions and regulatory considerations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to gather and define business requirements across departments (finance, HR, student services, procurement, etc.).
  • Translate complex institutional needs into clear, detailed functional specifications.
  • Lead workshops, interviews, and working sessions with end users to identify process gaps and improvement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with IT, vendors, and project managers throughout the ERP selection and implementation lifecycle.
  • Assist with vendor evaluation and RFP processes by developing use cases, fit-gap analyses, and scoring criteria.
  • Maintain documentation and traceability for business requirements, decisions, and process changes.
  • Provide insights on change management, training needs, and system adoption strategies.
