Drupal/WordPress Developer
Location: Austin, TX (onsite)
Contract Position
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Developer to lead the design, development, and administration of our enterprise websites and web applications. This senior-level role serves as the primary administrator for the organization’s Drupal and WordPress platforms and is responsible for building, maintaining, and securing custom applications within a LAMP or LEMP stack.
You will play a critical role in supporting operations, enabling scalable solutions, enhancing user experience, and implementing consistent web standards.

Qualifications:
  • 8 years of hands-on experience in PHP development within the LAMP or LEMP software stack.
  • Experience designing, developing, and maintaining enterprise websites and custom applications using CMS platforms.
  • Expertise in the administration and customization of Drupal and WordPress websites.
  • Experience in front-end development using HTML, CSS, and jQuery, in accordance with current web standards and developing within common frameworks such as Laravel, Django, or Symfony.
  • Experience designing and managing MySQL databases.
  • Experience implementing responsive website design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Familiarity with AJAX for building asynchronous web applications.
  • Experience using Drush or similar tools for Drupal administration.
  • Experience addressing web security best practices, including mitigation of XSS and SQL injection.
  • Experience with information retrieval systems such as Solr or Drupal Search is preferred
  • Experience scripting in Python, JavaScript, Ruby, or Java is preferred
  • Experience using ticketing systems such as Remedy or KACE is preferred

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead development and administration of the organization’s Drupal and WordPress websites.
  • Design, build, and support web and browser-based applications for enterprise use.
  • Ensure application scalability, security, and performance, including backend database support.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation and enforce security standards.
  • Train staff and internal teams on the use of web applications and content management systems.
  • Participate in cross-functional groups to implement standardized templates and shared tools.
  • Serve as the internal expert on web application architecture, CMS management, and modern development practices.
  • Comply with agency attendance, safety, and conduct policies.
