Principal Technical Business Architect – Data Governance Contract Length: 12 months + potential extension Location: Dallas, Texas – Hybrid (3-4 days onsite downtown Dallas) **Applicants must already be local to the Dallas area**
We are seeking a Principal Technical Business Analyst/Architect to lead strategic architecture initiatives that bridge enterprise technology with evolving business needs. This high-impact role drives enterprise architecture alignment across portfolios, defines future-state technology strategies, and ensures scalable, secure, and value-driven solutions, particularly in cloud (AWS) and enterprise application domains.
As a thought leader within the enterprise architecture function, this individual will collaborate with senior stakeholders, technology leaders, and delivery teams to guide large-scale digital transformation and grid modernization programs.
Qualifications:
12+ years in IT, with 8+ years in architecture roles
Strong business acumen and ability to align technical solutions to organizational goals
Deep understanding of cloud (AWS preferred), application modernization, and architecture frameworks (TOGAF, Zachman, etc.)
Experience leading enterprise initiatives across multiple domains (apps, data, security, infrastructure)
Strong grasp of regulatory, compliance, and cyber risk considerations
Executive-level communication, strategic planning, and stakeholder management skills
Key Responsibilities:
Define and evolve enterprise architecture strategies and roadmaps across business units
Partner with senior business and technology leaders to align architecture with strategic priorities
Lead architectural governance, including review boards, solution assessments, and policy enforcement
Guide business capability modeling and target state architecture definitions
Oversee integration of enterprise-wide initiatives across cloud, application, security, and data domains
Evaluate emerging technologies, assess impact, and drive innovation recommendations
Provide architectural oversight for transformational programs, ensuring delivery of scalable, resilient, and secure solutions
Mentor solution and domain architects; promote architectural consistency and best practices
Act as a trusted advisor to executive stakeholders, translating complex technical strategies into business-aligned outcomes
