Technical Project Manager – Workday Implementation Location: Austin, Texas (Hybrid – Onsite 3 days per week) Permanent Position
We are seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager with hands-on implementation experience across ERP and other enterprise applications. The ideal candidate will be able to drive timelines, coordinate resources, and directly support configuration, testing, and integration activities.
This position reports to the Director of Application Support and will serve as the techno-functional leader of multiple systems and applications. Collaborating closely with Finance, HR, IT, and executive stakeholders the initial project focus will be on a Workday systems implementation project.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in information systems, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience).
Workday certification required.
7+ years of enterprise system implementation experience, with at least 3–5 years focused on Workday HCM and/or Financials.
Proven track record leading Workday implementation projects as a Project Manager, Technical Lead, or similar role.
Hands-on expertise with Workday configuration, integrations (EIBs, Studio, Core Connectors), and calculated fields.
Strong background in project management methodologies (Agile/Scrum or Waterfall).
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with ability to engage both executive leaders and technical staff.
Prior experience in public sector, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the end-to-end Workday implementation project, including planning, resource management, timelines, and deliverables.
Partner with HR, Finance, IT, and vendor teams to ensure effective deployment of Workday HCM and Financial modules.
Provide hands-on technical oversight in areas such as configuration, business process design, security role management, and integrations (Workday Studio, EIBs, and Core Connectors).
Manage system testing cycles including unit testing, UAT, and regression testing.
Oversee data conversion, migration, and validation to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Facilitate stakeholder communication, status reporting, and issue resolution throughout the project lifecycle.
Support post-launch stabilization, including enhancements, training, and troubleshooting.
Ensure compliance with SOX, HIPAA, and organizational security requirements.
Document system configurations, processes, and project deliverables in alignment with best practices.
