Control Systems Administrator
Contract Length: 12 Month Contract + Potential Extension Location: Dallas, TX – 100% Onsite
We are seeking a Control Systems Administrator to support and maintain mission‑critical server infrastructure powering our client’s operations technology and control system environments. This position focuses on administering Windows, Linux, VMware, Nutanix, and associated virtualization and security platforms. The ideal consultant will be a senior‑level engineer with at least 8 years of experience, capable of ensuring 24/7 system reliability, addressing issues quickly, supporting regulatory compliance, and collaborating across cross‑functional teams.
Qualifications/Requirements:
8+ years of system administration experience across Windows (2008–2019) and Linux (RHEL 7–9).
Expertise in Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, IIS, ADFS, Group Policies, FTP/SFTP.
Hands‑on experience with diagnostics, troubleshooting, and performance tuning.
Strong understanding of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper‑V).
Experience maintaining highly available and disaster‑recovery‑ready environments.
Skilled in PowerShell scripting and automation.
Experience with server lifecycle management, hardware provisioning, racking, cabling.
Familiarity with RAID, backup solutions, OEM hardware (Dell/HP), and remote tools.
Knowledge of NERC CIP requirements and security baseline compliance.
Experience in Operations Technology or Control System environments preferred.
Ability to coordinate with multiple teams and support real‑time operational systems.
Strong collaboration, communication, and documentation abilities.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Administer and maintain Windows and Linux servers across multiple control system environments.
Support virtualization, provisioning, VDI systems, hardware maintenance, and daily operations.
Maintain compliance through configuration, remediation, and audit reporting.
Handle security patching, software updates, and system hardening activities.
Monitor system health, performance, utilization, and identify trends or anomalies.
Support NERC CIP compliance and provide remediation for non‑compliant findings.
Provide Tier‑3 engineering support and business continuity capabilities.
Collaborate with application, network, and security teams supporting Control System tools.
Participate in on‑call rotation for Control System support.
