Technical Project Manager – Data Management (Agile Delivery Focus)
Contract: 6–12 months
Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid – local candidates only)

We are seeking a hands-on Technical Project Manager to lead execution of Data Management initiatives in a delivery-focused role, not a program-level position. The ideal candidate has recent experience managing Agile teams, owns day-to-day project execution, and is comfortable working closely with data teams, architects, and engineers. This is a high-impact opportunity driving data transformation initiatives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, offering the chance to work closely with technical teams and leadership while benefiting from hybrid flexibility and strong team engagement.

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager (not program manager) with direct ownership of delivery
  • 3+ years of recent Agile/Scrum experience in a hands-on role (Scrum Master responsibilities required)
  • Proven experience managing day-to-day execution, including:
    • Task tracking
    • Sprint execution
    • Resource coordination
    • Issue resolution
  • Strong experience with Agile tools, especially:
    • Jira (required)
    • Confluence (required)
  • Experience with project estimation, planning, and scheduling (must be clearly demonstrated)
  • Ability to break down high-level requirements into detailed work plans

Technical Requirements

  • Experience working with data-focused projects (Data Management, Data Warehousing, ETL, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of SQL (must be able to work with data teams and understand queries)
  • Familiarity with databases such as Oracle or similar platforms

***What We’re NOT Looking For***

  • Program Managers overseeing portfolios without hands-on execution
  • PMs with primarily Waterfall experience
  • Candidates without recent Agile delivery experience
  • PMs who have not recently managed tasks, teams, and sprint execution directly

What You’ll Do

  • Own end-to-end delivery of data-focused projects, including planning, estimation, execution, and reporting
  • Act as Scrum Master and Project Manager, leading:
    • Daily stand-ups
    • Sprint planning
    • Backlog grooming
    • Sprint reviews and retrospectives
  • Manage detailed project plans, including task breakdowns, dependencies, and resource assignments
  • Drive accurate estimation and capacity planning with technical teams
  • Track and manage work in Jira and Confluence (hands-on, daily usage required)
  • Identify and proactively resolve delivery risks, blockers, and dependencies
  • Work closely with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet requirements
  • Provide clear, concise reporting to leadership, including executive-level updates
