Technical Project Manager – Data Management (Agile Delivery Focus) Contract: 6–12 months Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid – local candidates only)
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Project Manager to lead execution of Data Management initiatives in a delivery-focused role, not a program-level position. The ideal candidate has recent experience managing Agile teams, owns day-to-day project execution, and is comfortable working closely with data teams, architects, and engineers. Required Qualifications
5+ years of experience as a Project Manager (not program manager) with direct ownership of delivery
3+ years of recent Agile/Scrum experience in a hands-on role (Scrum Master responsibilities required)
Experience with project estimation, planning, and scheduling (must be clearly demonstrated)
Ability to break down high-level requirements into detailed work plans
Technical Requirements
Experience working with data-focused projects (Data Management, Data Warehousing, ETL, etc.)
Strong understanding of SQL (must be able to work with data teams and understand queries)
Familiarity with databases such as Oracle or similar platforms

Program Managers overseeing portfolios without hands-on execution
PMs with primarily Waterfall experience
Candidates without recent Agile delivery experience
PMs who have not recently managed tasks, teams, and sprint execution directly
What You’ll Do
Own end-to-end delivery of data-focused projects, including planning, estimation, execution, and reporting
Act as Scrum Master and Project Manager, leading:
Daily stand-ups
Sprint planning
Backlog grooming
Sprint reviews and retrospectives
Manage detailed project plans, including task breakdowns, dependencies, and resource assignments
Drive accurate estimation and capacity planning with technical teams
Track and manage work in Jira and Confluence (hands-on, daily usage required)
Identify and proactively resolve delivery risks, blockers, and dependencies
Work closely with data engineers, architects, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet requirements
Provide clear, concise reporting to leadership, including executive-level updates
