Hybrid Cloud Network Architect #3035

Hybrid Cloud Network Architect
Location: Austin, TX (Onsite 3 days/week)
Contract: 12-18 months

We are seeking an experienced Hybrid Cloud Network Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable, and resilient network architectures supporting cloud transformation initiatives for a significant project. This role requires deep expertise in hybrid networking, enabling seamless integration between on-premises data centers and cloud-native AWS services while aligning with enterprise architecture standards.
 

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in network architecture across AWS and on-premises environments.
  • Strong expertise in routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), network segmentation, and firewall technologies.
  • Hands-on experience with hybrid connectivity solutions (VPN, Direct Connect, Transit Gateway).
  • Deep understanding of network security principles, encryption, identity, and compliance frameworks.
  • Experience designing high availability, load balancing, and failover architectures.
  • Proficiency with network automation tools such as Terraform or Ansible and CI/CD integration.
  • Experience with multi-cloud networking (Azure, GCP) is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Zero Trust architecture and advanced security models.
  • Exposure to SD-WAN technologies and network observability tools (e.g., NetFlow, CloudWatch, Prometheus).
  • Understanding of cloud networking cost optimization strategies.
  • Relevant certifications (AWS Advanced Networking Specialty, Cisco CCNP/CCIE, Azure Network Engineer Associate).
 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement hybrid and multi-cloud network architectures integrating on-premises environments with AWS.
  • Develop secure, high-performance network solutions that meet compliance, governance, and business continuity requirements.
  • Collaborate with cloud, security, and infrastructure teams to support migrations and optimize network operations.
  • Establish network governance standards, best practices, and architectural patterns to support long-term enterprise growth.
  • Ensure routing, segmentation, and security policies align with enterprise architecture principles.
  • Design high availability, disaster recovery, and failover strategies for mission-critical workloads.
  • Analyze business requirements and system capabilities, perform cost/benefit analysis, and recommend alternative solutions.
  • Document detailed technical and functional requirements, including system designs and operational procedures.
