Enterprise Program Architect (ADMS / Grid Modernization) Contract Position: 12-18 months Location: Dallas, TX (Local candidates only - Hybrid schedule)
We are seeking an experienced Enterprise Program Architect to lead architecture across a major grid modernization initiative focused on Advanced Distribution Management Systems (ADMS). This role ensures end-to-end architectural alignment, integration consistency, and successful delivery across multiple complex workstreams. The architect will serve as the primary architecture owner for the program, bridging enterprise architecture strategy with execution while coordinating solution architects across teams and vendors. The role ensures solutions are scalable, secure, and delivery-ready in a fast-paced Agile environment.
The program centers on implementing and integrating a modern ADMS platform that unifies OMS, DMS, and SCADA capabilities into a real-time operational ecosystem, with integrations across GIS, AMI, DERMS, EMS, and other enterprise systems to improve grid reliability, visibility, and outage response.

Qualifications
8-10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, solution architecture, or technical leadership roles
Proven experience leading architecture for large-scale, multi-system enterprise programs
Strong background in distributed systems, application/data architecture, and cloud or hybrid environments
Ability to lead and influence without direct authority across multiple teams and stakeholders
Strong communication skills with both technical teams and executive leadership
Experience in utility, energy, or ADMS / grid operations environments strongly preferred
Responsibilities
Own end-to-end program architecture including target state, transition states, and integration strategy
Ensure architectural consistency across all projects and delivery workstreams
Define and govern cross-system integration architecture (APIs, data models, interfaces, and shared services)
Align program architecture with enterprise standards, security, reliability, and governance requirements
Lead and coordinate solution architects across internal teams and external vendors
Provide architectural guidance, escalation support, and decision leadership across the program
Partner with program leadership to align architecture with delivery priorities and timelines
Support implementation teams to ensure solutions are scalable, supportable, and production-ready
Ensure non-functional requirements including performance, observability, resilience, and security are met
Support phased ADMS rollout strategy including legacy system modernization and transition planning
Embed cybersecurity considerations across OT/IT integration points and operational systems
