This is a rare opportunity to lead architecture on a genuinely transformative project, taking a manual, paper-based processes and reimagining them as a modern, secure, electronic data exchange platform. The Enterprise Integration Architect will own the technical vision for a system built on standardized national data exchange frameworks, designing the architecture that connects internal systems, external brokers, and legacy infrastructure into one cohesive, high-performing whole. This role will serve as the technical anchor for the development team, set the standard for how code gets written, and be the trusted voice when complex integration challenges need solving.
Qualifications/Requirements:
6+ years of extensive hands-on experience building enterprise-level, scalable web applications and services using C#/.NET, Java Enterprise, or similar frameworks
Proven experience designing and implementing secure REST and SOAP web services and managing XML and JSON electronic data exchanges between disparate internal and external systems
Experience developing, debugging, and modifying Unix/Linux shell scripts
Demonstrated ability to serve as a technical lead, including roadmap planning, cross-departmental coordination, and managing developer resources across project phases
Advanced knowledge of software architecture design patterns, Service-Oriented Architecture, and security best practices for protecting data in transit
Experience establishing technical standards, leading code reviews, mentoring developers, and partnering with QA on complex integration testing
Strong troubleshooting skills across complex web environments, including resolving integration challenges between internal systems and external brokers
Proficiency creating system diagrams, data flow models, and technical specifications
Experience with more than one RDBMS platform such as DB2, SQL Server, or Oracle preferred
Familiarity with NASWA SIDES exchange standards preferred
Duties/Responsibilities:
Lead the design and implementation of a scalable, high-performance application architecture that transitions legacy manual processes into modern electronic data exchange
Architect application logic supporting standardized national data exchange frameworks through secure APIs and web services
Design automated workflows, system triggers, and electronic notification processes
Implement robust application-level security including encryption and authorization to protect sensitive data in compliance with state and federal standards
Coordinate with database architects and legacy system experts to design integration points with existing systems and the enterprise data warehouse
Produce technical documentation including architectural blueprints and system sequence diagrams
Lead code review and quality assurance processes while mentoring junior developers
Collaborate closely with project stakeholders to meet deadlines and maintain operational continuity throughout system modernization
