Business Systems Analyst Contract Length: 6 months – contract to hire Location: Remote position in Texas (**Must currently reside in Texas)

Our client, a highly regarded Texas State agency is looking for a strong Business Systems Analyst to perform complex computer systems analysis work in support of the Business Systems Integration (BSI) unit. The BSA will coordinate the planning, and analysis of user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing and improve existing systems.
Required Experience:
7+ years of experience as a Systems Analyst/Business Analyst working on complex large scale projects
Prior experience and knowledge of the UI Benefits, and Tax Systems
Experience conducting fit/gap sessions, performing system configurations
Experience conducting testing including UAT and developing training documentation
Experience preparing project documentation such as: system requirement specification, functional design specifications, architectural diagrams, flowcharts, screen prototypes, wireframes, interface specifications, data migration rules, logical workflow charts, database design specifications and data warehouse design specifications
Experience with a document management system (object storage system is preferred)
Strong knowledge of SDLC (agile, waterfall) principles and practices
Experience with project management methodologies, tools, and techniques to address project needs
State of Texas or Similar Federal/State Project Management Experience is highly preferred
The role involves:
Acting as a resource to vendors for standards and templates
Conducting joint application design sessions with customers and IT staff to define business requirements and develop software systems requirement
Communicating with users to determine requirements of new programs/systems or modifications to existing programs/systems
Preparing complex preliminary and detailed designs, process models, flowcharts, data mapping and other documentation for present and proposed business processes and automated systems to verify design logic and processes
Developing comprehensive test plans and coordinating test activities
Reviewing documentation and performing quality assurance activities
Diagnosing problems associated with automated applications and writing detailed specifications for developing or correcting software
