Principal Program Architect – ADMS Transformation
Contract Length: 6-12 months+
Location: Dallas, TX (Hybrid 3 days onsite)


We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Program Architect to provide architectural leadership and strategic direction for the Advanced Distribution Management System (ADMS) transformation program. This role ensures that solution design, delivery, and governance are aligned across all workstreams, supporting the successful delivery of one of our most critical modernization initiatives. The ideal candidate is a seasoned architecture leader with deep expertise in ADMS solutions, enterprise-scale systems integration, and modern cloud architecture.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related discipline.
  • 10+ years in IT application development
  • 7+ years in solution and enterprise architecture
  • 3+ years as a Lead Architect on complex, multi-stream programs
  • 3+ years architecting ADMS (Advanced Distribution Management System) solutions
  • 5+ years leading and mentoring architectural or technical teams
  • Strong background in application architecture, DevOps, and source code management
  • Proven experience with cloud and hybrid environments (AWS, Azure, IBM Cloud)
  • Skilled in microservices, serverless, containerization (e.g., OpenShift, Kubernetes)
  • Hands-on knowledge of infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation)
  • Understanding of IT security, compliance, and risk management principles
  • Experience in the electrical utility industry is highly preferred
  • Familiarity with Distribution and Outage Management Systems (DMS/OMS)
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and presentation skills
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and collaboration abilities

Key Responsibilities
Architectural Leadership: Drive architectural decisions and alignment across all ADMS workstreams, ensuring
designs adhere to enterprise standards and strategic objectives.
Solution Consistency: Oversee High-Level and Low-Level Design (HLD/LLD) artifacts to maintain consistency
and mitigate cross-project design conflicts.
Governance & Alignment: Maintain the Program Architecture Plan mapping solution blueprints to enterprise
principles. Represent program architecture in the Architecture Review Board (ARB) and Enterprise Solution
Review Board (ESRB).
Risk & Quality Management: Identify, track, and escalate design risks, technical debt, and compliance gap
across the program.
Technology Strategy: Shape the ADMS solution roadmap through collaboration with technology teams, vendors,
and business stakeholders.
Cloud & Integration: Lead the design and validation of scalable, secure cloud-based architectures for ADMS and
associated systems.
Security & Compliance: Partner with cybersecurity teams to ensure all solutions meet regulatory and policy
requirements.
Collaboration & Mentorship: Provide guidance to Solution Architects, Technical Leads, and development teams.
Promote best practices, architecture reuse, and continuous improvement.
Knowledge Management: Ensure architecture repositories are updated with key learnings, design standards,
and reusable assets.
