Technical Writer
Contract: 12months + potential extension

Location: Austin, Texas (ONSITE)
*Must be local to the Austin area and be able to be onsite 5days/week

We are looking for an experienced Technical Writer to assist our client in developing a comprehensive policies and procedures manual to document and enhance the organization’s key functions. The successful candidate will be adept at collaborating with different departments to collect, transcribe, and structure their policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with public utility type of companies with the ability to understand their business and produce clear, visually engaging documentation.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Communications or a related field
  • At least 5 years of experience in mapping policies and procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to develop flowcharts, create graphics, and compile policies and procedures into structured manuals
  • Proven skill in documenting complex information in a logical and organized manner
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders
  • Previous experience within a government agency or in a highly regulated public utilities sector is strongly preferred

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with multiple business units to document their policies and procedures
  • Create detailed and accurate records of processes
  • Develop flowcharts and other visual aids to represent policies and procedures in a logical and user-friendly sequence
  • Assemble and finalize the policies and procedures manuals, integrating graphics and text
  • Revise and update documentation based on feedback from staff to ensure accuracy and clarity
