Our client, a leading Design and Engineering firm with a national presence, is seeking a Director of Engineering - Mechanical to join their esteemed team in Dallas, TX. This senior leadership role involves managing a team of engineers and overseeing all mechanical engineering aspects for commercial construction projects.

The Director will ensure that projects meet design and building codes while leading and mentoring a team of engineers. Known for delivering outstanding design solutions through advanced technology and innovative engineering, the firm offers a dynamic environment where leadership and technical expertise are key. This role provides an excellent opportunity to drive business growth and secure new projects through effective client management and business development.

Skills and Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Current Professional Engineer (PE) license is required
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with a focus on commercial and industrial projects, preferably in the Education, Healthcare and Aviation sectors
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Trane Trace, or HAP software
  • Proficiency in Revit is also strongly desired
  • Familiarity with regulatory standards
  • Proven track record in managing engineering teams and projects, demonstrating leadership and mentorship abilities
  • Highly organized, proactive, and detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to exceeding client expectations and delivering successful project outcomes

Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage a team of mechanical engineers, coordinating with in-house Architecture and Engineering (A&E) disciplines
  • Oversee the design and optimization of HVAC systems, ensuring project compliance with design specifications and building codes
  • Represent the firm in client meetings, providing strategic guidance and expert consultation
  • Develop and sustain strong client relationships to drive business development and project acquisition
  • Collaborate with the sales team to create impactful presentations and proposals for new business opportunities
  • Assist in preparing detailed cost estimates and proposals for upcoming projects
