National Sales Director - IT Healthcare #380

Our client, a renowned medical services supplier of discount medical and lifestyle benefits is currently in need of a National Sales Director to support their Head Office in Dallas.

Position Description:
The National Sales Director will be responsible for growing business with the existing client base while also identifying new clients by planning and delivering product and marketing presentations. The Director should have experience developing, implementing and executing sales strategies as well as the ability to build and manage a winning sales organization.
Position Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement a strategic business plan to expand customer base 
  • Generate new business opportunities for the sales team through networking, existing relationships, research, marketing and referrals 
  • Manage and maintain retention with existing customer accounts
  • Devise winning sales strategies and processes for team implementation
  • Build effective compensation models for internal staff
  • Forecast sales revenue and set appropriate objectives and sales targets
  • Manage, develop, coach and motivate internal team
  • Ensure high professional standard among team members
  • Continuously evaluate current processes and develop and implement new sales initiatives and strategies
  • Coordinate lead generation initiatives internally and assist in turning prospects into clients
  • Consult with clients on benefit programs and useful marketing approaches to ensure goals are met while helping them address their sales and operational challenges 
  • Assist internal employees with escalated client-related issues to educate on client demands
  • Assist team in closing deals and negotiating contracts
  • Set implementation/workflow expectations with the client and collect pertinent information to identify client deliverables based on marketing strategy
  • Perform monthly activity reviews to determine account activity, benefit utilization, and renewal status
  • Compile monthly, quarterly and annual activity for debriefing with proper reports for review
  • Coordinate and facilitate conference call and webinar training for new client offices and staff, as well as assisting Sales with prospective client calls when needed
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of healthcare/discount/insurance industry

Position Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8+ years of experience in insurance sales and marketing with an emphasis on traditional worksite
  • 3+ years in managing/leading Sales teams
  • TX Life and Health Insurance license highly desirable
  • Marketing and group insurance sales a plus (previous experience with DPOs DMPOs)
  • Previous experience selling into HR Departments, TPA's, Brokerage Firms, Insurance Carriers
  • Experience building a Sales Distribution team along with compensation, bonus, and incentive structures
  • Proven track record of motivational management skills
  • Proven success of meeting/exceeding sales targets
  • Strong facilitation, analytical and management skills
  • Excellent customer and client service skills with resilience to effectively handle problems and accept constructive criticism
  • Ability to develop credibility and rapport with people at all organizational levels
  • Outgoing, proactive, aggressive and competitive attitude
  • Strong work ethic with a commitment to excellence in quality and service
  • Ability to work under pressure and assimilate large quantities of information quickly without sacrificing quality and detail
  • Superior organizational skills/ability to manage details
  • Excellent written and communication skills – with strong interfacing ability with executive management
  • Travel required up to 50%, or as necessary
