Sr. Object-Oriented Programmer
Contract Length: 6 months – contract to hire
Location:  Remote position in Texas (**Must currently reside in Texas)

Our client, a highly regarded Texas State agency is looking for a strong Sr. Object-Oriented Programmer to perform complex computer development work in support of the Business Systems Integration (BSI) unit. The programmer will be involved in planning and design, problem solving, testing, implementation, and production support.

Required Experience:
  • 8 years of experience as a developer or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a related field with four years of experience
  • Solid proficiency utilizing object-oriented languages including: C#, Java, or JavaScript
  • Robust experience with Captiva and/or Image Trust
  • Ability with FileNet, Structured Query Language (SQL) Tools for DB2 or SQL Server
  • Strong knowledge of SDLC (agile, waterfall) principles and practices
  • Excellent communication skills including technical writing capability
  • Extremely detail-oriented and ability to multi-task within a fast-paced environment
  • State of Texas or Similar Federal/State Project Management Experience is highly preferred

The role involves:
  • Performing advanced computer programming work on assigned projects
  • Providing direction through the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), ensuring timely completion, sequencing, duration estimation, schedule development and control
  • Creating and maintaining documentation for all projects
  • Assisting in creation and monitoring purchases/contracts (statement of work) associated with projects assigned to the BSI unit
  • Ability to provide training, presentations, or system demonstrations
  • Ensuring procedures and specifications related to disaster recovery efforts are maintained
  • Ensuring compliance with all Federal, State, and agency laws, rules, policies, and procedures including IT Handbook and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
