We are seeking a Sr. Technical Writer for our direct State client in Austin, Texas to develop comprehensive technical product documentation for end-users of the client database. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in technical writing and experience in producing detailed programs and end-user documentation with appropriate visualizations, including tutorials, user guides, troubleshooting manuals, and reference manuals.
Experience Required:
7+ years of experience in information technology and/or database systems
Knowledge of the limitations and capabilities of computer systems and their integration with end-user business processes
Experience with web page UI design
Experience developing end-user documents for complex relational database applications
Experience preparing technical documents for diverse audiences, both technical and non-technical
Ability to analyze and interpreting data
Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, with people of all technical levels
Ability to explain abstract concepts and terms
Knowledge of database concepts such as referential integrity and data normalization
Experience with Oracle databases and familiarity with Oracle objects (tables, constraints, triggers, etc.)
Responsibilities:
Work closely with client staff to develop, outline, format, and produce detailed program and end-user documentation for client database users
Develop documentation that meets client-side specifications and standards, including producing video tutorials as requested
Gather and document staff feedback on draft documents and incorporate user-requested changes as directed by the supervisor
Communicate effectively and collaborate with individuals of all technical levels in a team environment
Ensure documentation is accurate, clear, and accessible to users of varying technical expertise
