Data Scientist / Big Data Engineer Contract Position – 1 year+ Location: Austin, TX (Hybrid)
We are seeking a skilled Data Scientist/Big Data Engineer to lead the analysis, design, development, and testing of robust data processes within our Enterprise Data Warehouse. In this role, you will drive the creation and documentation of data extraction and reporting processes using Informatica, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and integrity. You will also conduct advanced data analysis, profiling, cleansing, and visualization across multiple data sources, define technical architecture, and deliver actionable insights and recommendations to stakeholders through comprehensive reporting.
Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:
8 years hands-on experience with Informatica ETL, including development, data profiling, data quality standards, and managing complex data flows and relationships.
Proven expertise in data warehouse development and testing (both relational and dimensional), with strong preference for Oracle, though familiarity with SQL Server and other RDBMS (e.g., DB2) is valuable.
Experience in data modeling, ideally within a data warehouse environment; proficiency with Erwin or similar tools is preferred.
Hands-on experience with the Informatica Cloud platform.
Ability to develop and apply algorithms and models for data mining, analysis, and validation to ensure uniformity and accuracy.
Demonstrated ability to identify and resolve data mismatches, particularly within case management systems.
Familiarity with cloud platforms, particularly Amazon Web Services (AWS), is a plus.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, implement, and document data extraction and reporting processes to ensure accurate and reliable reporting.
Perform in-depth data analysis, including profiling, cleansing, and visualization, across multiple data sources.
Support Enterprise Data Warehouse initiatives with additional analysis, documentation, and process enhancement as needed.
Define technical architecture and deliver detailed reports including methodology, gap analysis, findings, and recommendations.
Collaborate with project stakeholders and leadership to align on project methodology, technical approach, and schedules.
