IT Project Manager
Contract: 12-18 months
Location: Austin, TX (WFH)

**The Contractor can work remotely but will be required to work ON SITE as needed in Austin, TX for training and one-off meetings.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or a related field
  • PMP certification PREFERRED
  • At least 6+ years of experience working as a Project Manager
  • Ability to address changes and assist with creating team standards
  • Previous work with government contracts (state or federal) 
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects concurrently
  • Experience with general IT SDLC processes and on Agile Projects utilizing SCRUM (estimating, planning, forecasting)
  • Ability to comprehend and communicate complex technical designs and implementations as well as complex business processes
  • Some on-call support may be required depending on project phase
  • Must possess good communication and organizational skills
  • Must be skilled in the use of Jira for tracking Agile projects

Our client is an elite organization relied upon to provide trustworthy, up to the minute data regarding infectious diseases and infection rates related to a variety of initiatives. The Consultant will be working to establish the project scope and schedule, establish Agile sprint cycles, manage risks and issues, and provide project status reports to executive leadership.  This specific position will be responsible for managing deliverables including  the direction of the Business Enablement Platform projects as well as managing the participants and coordinating specific tasks and duties for the team.

Daily Duties:
  • Oversee, coordinate and analyze development and documentation of information systems and a variety of requirements
  • Facilitate meetings (daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo and retrospective)
  • Manage risks and issues relating to all project matters and ensure best practices for optimizing IT infrastructure with policies and guidelines
  • Organize, plan & collaborate with staff regarding Applications and Infrastructure options
  • Assist with the coordination and onboarding of different applications
  • Ensure project goals, time frames, assist with budget estimates & status reports
  • Accountable for successful project delivery, outcomes, and customer satisfaction to programs
  • Ensure ongoing documentation of environment and updates
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with project sponsors and stakeholders
