Virtualization Administrator
Full Time Opportunity
Location: North Dallas area (WFH flexibility)

REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (or related area) preferred
  • 6+ years  of experience installing, configuring, and maintaining various types of server hardware
  • Experience with virtualization and containerization (e.g., VMware, Virtual Box)
  • Proven working experience in installing, configuring and troubleshooting Windows based environments
  • Strong VDI background with experience managing and monitoring systems
  • Solid experience in the administration and performance tuning of application stacks
  • Networking knowledge (OSI network layers, TCP/IP)
  • A solid understanding of LAN/WAN networking
  • Advanced knowledge, DNS, DHCP
  • Proficient with Group Policy design and configuration
  • Proficient with Active Directory/LDAP user and group administration
  • Ability to troubleshoot network issues including backbone infrastructure issues
  • Ability to diagnose & address system issues
  • Must have good analytical and organizational skills with a strong sense of urgency in solving problems
  • Must have effective written and verbal communication skills, and be extremely customer service oriented

DAILY DUTIES
  • Ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions
  • Design, install and configure internal and customer facing servers, network devices and firewalls
  • Monitor, maintain, support, and optimize all networked software and associated operating systems
  • Administer and support core Microsoft, Cisco, Citrix and VMware technologies
  • Serve as a top tier escalation point for complex Service Desk requests
  • Installation and on-going administration support for operating systems
  • Manage servers, including email, print and backup servers and their associated operating systems/software
  • Manage enterprise directory services and supporting server infrastructure
  • Manage data center infrastructure including compute, storage and virtualization components
  • Monitor and test system performance and provide statistics and reports
  • Develop and implement project plans, risk assessments and contingency plans
  • Assist with hardware, firewall, telecom and software vendor evaluation, recommendation and negotiations
  • Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation
  • Mentor/cross train team members on existing and new technologies
  • Represent the IT Infrastructure team in various companywide projects and initiatives
