Construction Safety Coordinator - Telecom
Location: Indianapolis, IN (with site travel)
Contract: 12-18 months
 
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience
  • 4+ years of related occupational health and safety experience and EHS facility auditing
  • Previous telecom construction experience is required
  • Certifications preferred
  • Must be comfortable speaking in front of an audience
*Will be required to pass a background check, drug screen and clean record with DMV
 
We are recruiting for Safety Coordinator with a background in telecommunications construction with 4-5 years of experience to help with a project roll out with one of our clients in the Indianapolis area.  The Safety Coordinator will be responsible for monitoring and evaluating the workplace to ensure compliance with all relevant safety and environmental regulations, and administering related training programs.


Responsibilities:
  • Support zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations
  • Provide full-time support in the field to assure safety operations are conducted in a safe manner
  • Travel to project tower sites and conduct training on safety & health subjects
  • Audit, monitor and evaluate the workplace to ensure compliance with OSHA and other relevant safety and environmental regulations
  • Perform safety training programs in accident prevention, work area protection, trenching and other employee safety procedures
  • Conduct ongoing site visits to collect safety information and ensure compliance with OSHA regulations
  • Maintain appropriate safety and environmental documentation
  • Understand and interpret ISO 45001 as relates to safety and environmental requirements
  • Recommend long-term corrective actions based on observations and long range project plans
  • Participate in other EHS special projects as required
