Training Manager - Learning & Development #640

Our healthcare client, is in need of a Training Manager, Learning & Development for a 6-12 month contract role in Austin, TX to lead the delivery of the training to all the existing project managers and project resources for a new project portfolio management system. The Training Manager must work closely with the program areas and IT project team to assist with the implementation.
 
The primary work location will be REMOTE until all staff have been cleared to return to the office at which time the Consultant will also report to the Austin, Texas office.
 
**This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a new project rollout.  The position offers a solid compensation package with some additional advancement/extension opportunities into other departments if interested.
 
Daily Duties:
  • Prepare, conduct, and deliver the training program for the new project portfolio management tool
  • Collect data and analyze audiences and training needs, based on new business processes and policies, and apply these into successful training delivery
  • Write documentation and materials to be used in the delivery of the training and design exercises to enhance the presentations
  • Create instructor materials (course outlines, background material, instructional materials, and training aids), as needed
  • Plan, direct, and undertake classroom training, electronic learning, webinars, and other computer-aided instructional technologies, and workshops
  • Manage the training program in accordance with business needs
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for training related project communications and status reporting
  • Recommend corrective action when necessary
  • Coordinate, track, and report appropriate participants’ involvement in the training activities
  • Mentor other Project Managers and Department Leads for continuity of training exercises
 
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • BS/BA in Computer Science or a related field
  • At least 5+ years of experience working as a IT Project Training Manager (preferably in Healthcare Analytics)
  • Experience conducting classes regarding standard operating procedures of project management related software solutions
  • Experience with web-based learning management systems and e-Learning authoring tools
  • Experience producing documents for processes and use of software systems
  • Experience implementing training curricula for instructor led courses and videos
  • Familiarity with general IT SDLC processes and on Agile Projects
