QA Testers – Legacy Transformation Project Contract: 6-12 months Location: Austin, Texas *The selected contractors can work remotely, but may be required to travel to Austin, TX for training and occasional meetings. NO OUT OF STATE CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED.
Qualifications/Requirements
BS/BA in Computer Science or a related field
A MINIMUM of 8+ years testing all aspects of web-based applications including Smoke Testing, Regression testing, Black box testing, white box testing, and manual and automation testing
Advanced-level use of SQL queries and PL SQL programs
Strong knowledge Software Quality Assurance or Software Engineering Methodologies
Excellent overall understanding of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
4+ years of experience with application testing using SQL, PL SQL
2+ years of experience with testing of applications designed in Java, and .NET
Strong ability to test web applications
Familiar with Cloud and Software-As-A-Service (SAAS) concepts
Some experience in functional testing, performance testing, and load and stress testing
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Our client, is in need of a QA Testers for a long-term mainframe transformation project. The Contractors will be providing testing with respect to the quality and usability of software code that is developed and deployed. This will require expert knowledge of QA testing (Informatica, mainframe, Legacy open systems/Java, .NET, Oracle, MS SQL, etc.) to support the needs of internal Mainframe Transformation project teams. The QA Testers must be strong team-players, self-motivated and have the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Daily Responsibilities:
Responsible for manual and automated integration, system, and regression testing transactional database applications, including Informatica code and bridging; data reporting systems; legacy mainframe applications; and testing of applications written in Java and .NET
Perform software testing activities to include participation in or completion of implementation validation actions across multiple test streams, typically under tight deadlines
Develop use cases and test cases/scenarios based on software requirements/design
Prepare for and complete test triage activities with large teams
Report on test status and test metrics daily
Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to identify improvements to automate processing or to improve existing systems
Write, revise, and verify quality standards and test procedures (including test plans and test cases)
Review and interpret business requirements and design specifications and translating them into test procedures
