Our client, a high profile trusted provider of insurance and annuity products is looking for a A/P Specialist to join their Accounting team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Full Accounts Payable cycle: receive invoices, obtain approval, capture in disbursement software, print, distribute and mail checks, report issued and void items to bank for positive pay validation.
  • Post EFT & ACH transactions in Accounts Payable software.
  • 1099-MISC & 1099-R reporting and mailing to IRS, payee and/or state entities.
  • Filing and archiving – account payable items and journal entries.
  • Assist in preparing general ledger entries related to incoming and outgoing cash transactions.
  • Prepare and/or assist in creation of payments and returns related to State Withholding, State Premium Tax Returns, and other state regulatory filings.
  • Contribute ideas that strengthen internal procedures and efficiencies.
  • Perform other department and/or company-related assignments as assigned.
  • Assist quarterly and annual statutory statements including schedules and exhibits prepared in accordance with statutory accounting principles (SAP).
  • Assist in preparation of audited statutory financial statements including footnotes.

Education and Experience:
  • Must have at least 3+ years of Accounting Work experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Excellent personal computer skills, including MS Office including Excel, Word, Outlook. Excel proficiency a plus.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or similar work experience.
