Sr. GIS Data Modeler
Contract – 12-18 months
Location – Austin, TX
Qualifications/Requirements:
  • BS/BA in Geography, Computer Science, Business Administration or a related field
  • Must have at least 6+ years of experience in geospatial concepts, database design, data management/data modeling & platforms software (ArcGIS, ArcMap, GIS Web Mapping)
  • 4+ years of experience working on CAD to GIS data interoperability
  • Extensive experience in GIS data design, GIS data integration and automation, GIS ETL technologies
  • Experience with Microsoft platform - SharePoint, Word, PowerPoint, Visio
  • Ability to multi-task and perform according to deadlines and release schedules
 
Our Client is an elite organization relied upon to provide trustworthy, up to the minute reliable GIS data. We are currently recruiting for a Sr. GIS Data Modeler to join the organization for a new exciting project (12-18 months).  The Data Modeler will be working on a new initiative with a statewide GIS implementation program and be responsible for building geospatial data standards including schema, standard projections, data requirements for data integration, data supply chain and lifecycle management, and data sharing.
 
The ideal candidates will have a minimum 6+years of experience in a similar capacity. **The role will be fully remote and requires individuals that are responsible and dedicated with minimal supervision**
 
Daily Duties:
  • Work closely with management and other stakeholders to evaluate current processes and recommend solutions to be integrated into departmental geospatial strategy 
  • Build geospatial data standards (schema, projected data requirements for data integration, data sharing etc)
  • Assist in developing project proposal, budget and schedule
  • Coordinate with enterprise governance teams, business units, and individual users on needs assessments and/or gap analyses
  • Define user and system requirements, procedures, and problems to automate processing
  • May be required to make presentations and demos so that customers clearly understand the GIS application
  • Assist in ongoing data integrity and quality assurance activities to ensure application stability
  • Coordinate with training team staff to roll out application training and documentation modules 
  • Work effectively in a team to ensure a high degree of professionalism and quality GIS solutions/implementations
