Network Engineer
Location: Remote, Texas (work anywhere from Texas, may be required to travel occasionally)
Permanent Position

We are currently recruiting for a Network Engineer to add to the technical team for our growing client in Texas.  With existing locations in OH, TN, NC and NY, they are adding a Network Engineer that will be located in Texas or  a neighboring state. The Network Engineer will be responsible for the maintenance of data center networks, hardware, software, and other related systems, performing disaster recovery operations, protecting data, software, and hardware from attacks, and replacing faulty network hardware components when necessary.

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or related discipline
  • 4+ years of experience with a strong background in network security
  • Good understanding of Cisco Meraki and Fortinet equipment including remote management
  • CompTIA Network+ Certification preferred
  • Ability to remotely configure and monitor equipment
  • Ability to implement, administer, and troubleshoot network infrastructure devices, including wireless access points, firewall, routers, and switches
  • Ability to create accurate network diagrams and documentation for design and planning network communication systems
  • Provide detailed information for hardware and software selection
  • Knowledge of one or more scripting languages (ex: Python, Bash)
  • Open to travel to site locations
  • Self-starter requiring minimal supervision
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, and team oriented
  • Ability to navigate and work effectively across a complex, geographically dispersed areas

  • Maintenance and administration of data center networks
  • Design, configure and test networking software and hardware
  • Ensure strong protection of data, software, and hardware by coordinating, planning, and implementing network security measures
  • Work with software engineers for remote monitoring and dynamic configuration of the equipment
  • Ensure ongoing troubleshooting to resolve any hardware, software, or other network and system problems
  • Coordinate replacing faulty network hardware components when required
  • Coordinate computer network access and use
  • Continuous monitoring of network performance to determine if adjustments required
  • Work closely with equipment vendors and manufacturers’ representatives for selection and specification of appropriate equipment
  • Play an active role in project and status meetings
