Staff Accountant
Contract Length: 12-24 months + potential conversion to FTE
Location: Wylie, TX

**** Onsite (Hybrid Remote 2 days a week after 1 year) ****

Join this growing accounting team with flex-hours and a no-drama workplace.  With over $1B in Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) budgeted, bring your knowledge of how projects are capitalized and your experience entering and maintaining fixed assets across the accounting system. 


  • Knowledge of accounting concepts, practices and procedures
  • Strong analytical skills and able to handle multiple tasks at one time
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks
  • Must be able to meet strict deadlines
  • Must be able to follow oral and written instructions
  • Must be highly skilled in use of Excel spreadsheets
Education and Experience:
  • Associates degree or Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Business Administration
  • Minimum of four years of accounting experience, including governmental accounting, preferred
  • Possess extensive experience and judgement to plan and accomplish goals
  • Requires a valid Texas Driver’s License
  • Perform professional accounting functions in compliance with generally accepted accounting principles GAAP
  • Assist in the review of accounting systems and records for CIP and Fixed Assets
  • Review, code, and input payment requests in the accounting software
  • Assist in entering and maintaining Fixed Assets in the accounting software
  • Prepare and enter journal entries
  • Provide support to various functions within the Accounting group
  • Create and maintain various Excel spreadsheets utilized in the Accounting department, including audit schedules
  • Create and maintain training materials and other documents in Word and PowerPoint
  • Create and maintain VLOOKUP, SUMIF, SUMIFS and IF THEN formulas in Excel spreadsheets
  • Maintain accurate historical records by capturing records into the records management system
