Secure Network Analytics Engineer (Cisco)
Contract – 12-24 months
Location – Austin, TX (Hybrid – 2 days onsite)

As the Secure Network Analytics Engineer, the Consultant will be responsible for providing technical support to the organization. Specifically including the provision of 3rd Line support on Cisco Secure Network Analytics (Stealthwatch), involvement in strategic projects across the network estate, continuous service improvement and 3rd line incident and service request fulfilment.

Qualifications/Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent information security experience
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification – CCIE is highly preferred
  • Experience designing, delivering and administering Cisco Secure Network Analytics (StealthWatch)
  • Experience of maintaining and configuring large wireless networks for multi-national organizations
  • Strong foundational knowledge and experience with TCP/IP and Routing Protocols
  • Innate crisis leadership skills and the tenacity to handle critical customer issues
  • Experience in one or more Security/Cloud Security Technologies and solutions like Firewall, VPN, AAA and Firepower, ISE, Stealthwatch, AMP for endpoints etc
  • Expertise in trouble shooting complex Security related issues

General Duties:
Support the creation and monitoring of alerts, policies, and host groups with 4 critical areas/activities:
  1. Performance and Health Monitoring
    • Ensure that the monitored device is operating as expected (e.g., up/down status), system resource utilization (e.g., CPU, MEMORY) and environmental indicators (e.g., temperature, power) as available through the specific endpoint management tool
  2. Alert/Notifications
    • Provide alerts or notifications to the designated point of contact or group of any variance from the specified norms for performance or system health and security related alerts/notifications as defined by the security policy
  3. Move/Add/Change/Delete (MACD)
    • Perform changes to the configuration of the Secure Network Analytics management system, as directed by Security Management
  4. Patch and update installation
    • Ensure that the Secure Network Analytics system is up-to-date with the current software release (Version N) or current stable release (Version N-1)
