Cybersecurity Engineer

Our client is in need of a Cybersecurity Engineer for their Headquarters in the North Dallas area.  The Security Engineer will be responsible for assessing and implementing all aspects related to the planning, deployment, and support of a variety of security concepts and technologies, security functions and internet fraud prevention. The Security Engineer will work with members of the Information Security Team to detect actionable security events and to implement, sustain, administer and operate security technologies. The ideal candidate will have the ability to influence and build strong relationships across multiple programs; they will also have the ability to cultivate strategic business partnerships acting as the SME for security.
 
This is a full-time opportunity based in the North Dallas area for a well-respected organization offering an attractive compensation package (base, bonus, 401kmatching and ESOP) along with a comprehensive benefits package.
 
DAILY DUTIES
  • Design, develop, implement and enhance the effectiveness of the security architecture and processes to mitigate risk
  • Consult with IT technical services staff to evaluate, select, install, and configure hardware and software systems that provide appropriate security functions
  • Regularly perform security checks and troubleshooting 
  • Identify problems in a timely manner
  • Suggest and implement solutions for improvement
  • Implement new processes with the goal to optimize company's security system
  • Stay up to date with latest security technology and trends
  • Work with the development and infrastructure teams 
  • Perform regular audits and provide reports
  • Monitor company's server traffic and tickets
  • Identify and elevate security risks to management
  • Assist in remediation and responses to audits, penetration tests and vulnerability assessments, and recommend the application of controls, fixes, patches and disaster recovery procedures
 
REQUIRED SKILLS
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, Computer Science, Business, OR equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in overall network topology, network security, internet, intranet, extranet technologies and operating systems
  • 4+ years of technical security experience including Firewall, NGFW, IPS, SIEM, SOAR, endpoint security, sandbox, DLP, mail security, IDAM (SSO, PAM, MFA, IAM), cloud/virtualization, incident response, VTM, TCP/IP, Python
  • Some familiarity and experience with frameworks such as NIST, CIS, PCI
  • Certifications preferred - CISSP, Fortinet ISE, Cisco CCNP, Splunk
  • 2+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure and Office 365
  • Strong experience with Advance Disaster Recovery and Data Protection
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, effective written and verbal communication skills, and team oriented
  • Ability to navigate and work effectively across a complex, geographically dispersed organizations
