Business Analyst – Financial Systems
Contract Position – 12 months
Location: Austin, TX

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with USAS and CAPPS Financials systems
  • Expert understanding of state financial processes, accounting structure, and standards
  • Strong experience in documenting, analyzing, and making recommendations to improve business processes
  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively in performance of essential functions
  • Ability to quickly and clearly communicate technical information to non-technical persons
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines

  • Assist with the implementation of CAPPS Financial Issues to align with current budget
  • Work closely with organization’s staff to analyze and improve financial processes, including year-end close, depreciation, and budget reporting.
  • Conduct year-end close and depreciation process in CAPPS Asset Management module
  • Evaluate statewide General Ledger and Trial Balance reports to identify areas for improvement and develop appropriate reports
  • Fix errors in CAPPS budget reports developed by CPA and reconcile USAS and CAPPS activity on a monthly basis
  • Write procedures for CAPPS month-end close process
  • Attend scheduled meetings and provide strong feedback and reporting to management on status updates
