Mainframe Systems Analyst Chicago, IL - Downtown location (Hybrid work schedule) Contract: 6-12 months
Our client is in need of a Systems Analyst to join their Chicago team to assist with existing, critical, mainframe based business applications for various projects with assignments to the development team. The Systems Analyst will be working closely with a cross-functional team of business analysts, testers, developers, product managers and project managers.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline
5+ years of experience in IT
Mainframe application experience with development, configuration, and technologies (COBOL, CICS, JCL, DB2, VSAM, Batch jobs and Procedures)
Experience with Source Code management tools like Endevor
Good experience with inter-testing various applications along with exposure to integrating a variety of applications
Must have experience with comprehensive SDLC methodology (Waterfall and/or Agile)
Ideally some exposure to the insurance field with claims processing, applications and components
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to create effective requirements documents and review them with key project stakeholders at multiple levels of the organization
Assist Business Analysts with gathering and translate customer needs into functional and non-functional requirements
Ongoing requirements analysis, systems analysis and developing logical and physical designs
Ongoing review of the requirements, designs, code and help plan SIT and UAT testing as well as releases
Work collaboratively with a team of business analysts, business owners, project managers, QA team and development team
