Agile Product Owner
Contract – 12-18 months
Location – REMOTE, TEXAS

  • BS/BA in Business Administration, Computer Science, or a related field
  • Must have at least 7 years of experience in application development as an agile/scrum product owner/manager
  • Must have 5+ years of experience with writing acceptance criteria-based user stories
  • Experience with highly complex application security requirements
  • Experience with organizing user acceptance testing per sprint and end to end
  • Experience with story mapping and business process mapping
  • Experience with Atlassian Jira and Atlassian Confluence

The Agile Product Owner will be responsible for setting, prioritizing, and accepting the work generated by a team in order to ensure the most valuable and proper functionality of the product. As the Product Owner, you will gather feature requests, schedule releases, and coordinates sprints. You should be able to identify user needs, help a customer understand a business value and work with cross-functional teams to manage product releases.
This position requires a Candidate that is very organized and possesses analytical thinking with strong communication skills as they will need to see through the eyes of the customer but fluently speak the language of technology. The primary goal of the Candidate will be to drive the customer’s product vision into reality with the help of the project team.
**The role will be fully remote (IN TEXAS) and requires individuals that are responsible and dedicated with minimal supervision**
Daily Duties:
  • Turn a product vision into an applicable strategy that can be supported by business and IT management
  • Evaluate, analyze, and understand the voice of the customer through a variety of data sources
  • Partner with business SMEs and agile product teams to gather requirements and build product roadmaps that will be incorporated into the broader agency product portfolio plan
  • Participate in research to identify new opportunities for new and existing features and functionalities
  • Create product backlog with Themes, Epics, User stories
  • Accept work built by scrum teams and determines if product is shippable
  • Attend regular sprint ceremonies and collaborates with the development team(s)
  • Participate in all phases of SDLC, including release planning, analysis & design, user story writing/prioritization and software development/testing
  • Perform acceptance testing of the user stories developed
  • Provide guidance and knowledge sharing to existing development staff
