Job Title:  Sr. Health Data Analytics Consultant
Location:   Austin TX (5 days onsite)
Contract Length:  12+ month contract with potential extension


We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Data Analytics Consultant to support statewide public health and regulatory initiatives. This position will play a leading role in transforming complex datasets into actionable insights, improving program operations, and contributing to strategic decision-making at an enterprise level. This is not just report writing, this is an opportunity to influence policy, optimize systems, and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership.

The Senior Data Analytics Consultant will lead analytical and consultative efforts across multiple high-impact initiatives. This role will interface with both business and technical teams and is ideal for a strategic thinker who thrives in a collaborative but autonomous environment. Strong communication skills and the ability to translate data into operational improvements are essential.
 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Analytics, Public Health, or related field
  • 8+ years of experience analyzing, synthesizing, and transforming data into actionable business insights
  • 8+ years producing dashboards, reports, and visualizations using modern analytics tools
  • 8+ years developing data models, mapping requirements, and identifying operational efficiencies
  • Proven ability to analyze data standards and evaluate their impact on systems and business processes
  • Experience building metadata, data tables, and user-friendly reporting structures
  • Ability to work with minimal oversight and provide strategic recommendations to leadership
  • Preferred experience supporting state or federal government programs, public sector environments, or public health initiatives
 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess high-priority initiatives and special projects
  • Perform advanced analysis to uncover trends, insights, risks, and opportunities
  • Responsible for defining requirements, documenting standards, and recommending solutions
  • Gather and interpret data from multiple sources to drive operational and strategic outcomes
  • Facilitate discussions with business and technical leaders to align on data needs and priorities
  • Develop dashboards, visualizations, and reporting tools using innovative methods
  • Create data models, documentation, and structured reporting frameworks to support decision-making
  • Provide expert guidance and data-driven recommendations directly to organizational leadership
